Interview with Matthew Wayne

Hola everyone! I am doing a special interview with one of my good buddies Matthew Wayne of Texas. I have known him forever and a day and was very happy to hear of his first book being published. He was kind enough to send me a copy for me to read and it is excellent. I am looking forward to his fantasy novel that is in progress. I also would like to share him with all of you as well in hopes that you will pick up your own copy of his first book. Now lets get this interview started.

First of all tell us a little bit about yourself?

Hm, these types of questions has always been hard to answer. Lets see I was born in Utah, and was moved to Texas when I was still just a child. I am 26, have been writing since I was probably around 15, and even then my controversial style always seemed to either get me in trouble, or cause heads to turn.

How did the idea of your book come to be?

Over the years of writing I noticed I wouldn't throw any of my literature away, even if they were only one sentence long. Couldn't bring myself to part with them even though they were not complete Sonnet's they still came from a part of my soul. So one day an idea came to me to compile them all together and make a book, out of my incomplete quotes, poems, literature.

What inspired you to get your first book published?

Mainly to know that I had done it. Then it would have to be for you, and anyone else who wishes to read what I have to offer. Most dead poets would tell you it was never for the fame, or the money as everyone knows most died in poverty. No, my inspiration for getting my first book published was so that I could look back and know I left a mark, whether big or small an imprint into our culture and now history.

Will there be more writings and publications in the future?

Oh yes, a few more in fact. Currently in the works is a Fantasy/Fictional book "The Legacy of Sky" and another poetry/Literature book that will showcase all of my completed Sonnets, and Tangents.

Could you give us a verse from one of your poems and describe to us what inspired it?

From my Book?

One of my absolute favorites found within the book is located in chest five.

"Can you reach your dreams? or touch your god?
a ghostly visage, a desert mirage.
offspring of knowledge
sons and daughters of the white coat sage"

This passage has always been easy for me to remember what the inspiration was and still is. In the age of Science we seem to still cling to childish fairytale, like the child's tooth fairy we still grasp for the illusions. Whether its a single tangible god or wishes made by tossing a penny into the fountain, We have truly as a spices fallen from understanding of how this universe behaves, and we have forgotten knowledge that even our ancestors are teaching us today, We are the white coat sages.

And finally,How do we go about in getting our hands on a copy of your book?

Thank you for inquiring! :) simple really.
You can order them online at either Amazon.com or by going here.
http://www.createspace.com/3390099
The online price is currently set to $12.50 this is to help cover the publisher's cost. However if you wish to get a copy for only $10 simply email me at waynecanning@hotmail.com, with the subject line of "Book Order" with your shipping address, and your method of payment. however cannot take credit cards at the moment.

PART FOUR OF CUTOUTANDKEEP INTEVIEWS

Well this ends the first part series of fun interviews of four known women on the board of cutoutandkeep.net. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. So recline that computer chair of yours and read on my interview with Kiddo, the sexy lady of crafting.

Name: Suzanne Gregg
Location: Tenn.
Site Name: KIDDO

You can check out some of her projects HERE and click to her logo to the right of your screen to check out her etsy store...I swear I am addicted to her shop!

This lovely lady is just amazing what she does, I just don't know how she comes up with the stuff she makes. I love talking to her over the phone and enjoy our conversations, she seems to be the only gal I can be on the phone for hours with. She is strong minded, gorgeous and creative; what more can you ask for from a fellow crafter. Lets see what she had to say with my questions.

INTERVIEW WITH KIDDO

What made you decide to start crafting?
I actually use crafting as therapy for my bipolar and anxiety disorders. I have found that being able to come up with an idea and actually create it for others to enjoy has done me a world of good. For me it's actually more effective than talk therapy (and it's cheaper, too).

What is/are your inspirations with the things you create?
I take inspiration from other crafters. For instance, I fell in love with resin jewelry making after discovering the work of Lunaricsales on Etsy.com. Her jewelry is so amazing! I decided I would give resin a try and absolutely love it!

Do you have a favorite craft you enjoy doing?
Right now it's making jewelry. I also hand embroider and make creations out of felt (but those definitely take a backseat to jewelry making at this point in my life).

What is a typical day/week for you?
Unfortunately I just lost my job, so at this time nothing is typical for me. My newfound freedom currently has me in "culture shock."

What is it like to have a place online to sell the things you love making?(what is your online store link)

I currently sell my creations on http://kiddo47.etsy.com. It's so wonderful to have people like the things that I have put so much time and love into enough to buy them! My favorite part of selling on Etsy is packing up my crafts to send them to a new, loving home!

Other than crafting what other hobbies do you have?
Crafting is my ultimate passion. I love connecting with my fellow CO+K buddies on a nearly daily basis. I have met so many wonderful people there! I'm sure they will be friends I have for life!

What are your thoughts on our favorite crafting site www.cutoutandkeep.net?
This site has been a godsend for me! I've met so many awesome friends! I love browsing through the newly posted projects daily and especially love participating in craft swaps on CO+K.

Where do you see yourself ten years from now?
Living a happy life, doing what exactly? I have no idea, but that's the exciting part!

Lastly, I will let you ask me two questions and I will answer them for you.

How long have you been crafting?
I been crafting since I was little, I was raised in a big family and my parents really didnt have much money to get us the "FABULOUS" toys they aired on tv. So we would always come up with some crafty, recycle idea to keep us occupied as well as using our imagination to make up some kewl games to play.

What is your favorite crafting medium?
I dont stick with one crafting medium, my moods change, I could be sewing one day and the next day I could be making jewlery...or draw my cute anime pics...its an ongoing list. I like variety and like to give myself a challenge.

Tara M. is a wonderful mother to two handsome boys and another one soon to arrive in the next few/couple of weeks. She is a proud wife of a Marine who is serving our country overseas at the moment. I love all the stuff she makes like her totes and fabulous wristlets(who am I kidding, I love it all). So get ready and see what she had to say In her interview.

INTERVIEW WITH TARA M.

What made you decide to start crafting?
Nothing made me decide to do crafting, as long as I can remember I have just always done it haha! But, I do know without it I would go crazy!

What is/are your inspirations with the things you create?
Everything is my inspiration. I can see someone walking with a bag and say hey I can make that. The people I am making something for can be my inspiration. I also recently just started sewing with a machine, so I am addicted to craft books!

Do you have a favorite craft you enjoy doing?
I seem to circulate from crochet, to cross-stitch, to sewing, ect. When I learn to do something new, it is my new favorite!

What is a typical day/week for you?
Haha!I clean, clean, craft, clean, play with the boys, repeat! I have a free day on Wed and that is usually a day of relaxation and uninterrupted crafting. It's fun being a stay at home mom with 2 boys and one on the way! That's why there is soooo much cleaning!

What is it like to have a place online to sell the things you love making?(what is your online store link)
http://rockmytote.etsy.com
I don't really know to well yet. I just got my etsy account going, and I have only sold one item. Hehe. But, it does seem pretty neat. I actually don't even care if I sell anything, because I would be making the same things regardless.

Other than crafting what other hobbies do you have?
Music, other than nothing. I am a CRAFT NERD!

What are your thoughts on our favorite crafting site www.cutoutandkeep.net?
I love it! I am sooo glad I found it. I have found so many people who are crafty nerds just like me! Haha, and it is nice to post things and get positive or even not so positive feed back on the stuff you make. I don't really know anyone in the "real world" who is into this kind of stuff. It kind of feels like my home away from home.

Where do you see yourself ten years from now?
Doing the same things I am now just 10 times better! And being the number one crafter in the world!!!

Lastly, I will let you ask me two questions and I will answer them for you.

What made you decide to write this blog?
I really wanted everyone to get to know some of the briliant crafters I enjoy talking and seeing on the boards every day. Its great to see the insight and how a fellow crafter thinks as well as maybe relate and be able to start crafting as well.
I just love you guys!!

If you could be any color what color would you be, and why!?
I would be pink, its such a happy color and I just love bringing a smile to ppls faces.

Site Name: Creativemind
Location: Alabama

This lovely lady does all kinds of fun projects from drawing portraits to desinging beautiful wallpaper for your computer screen, from making bound journals to jewlery. She's done it all...well as far as I could see and I love seeing what she comes up with. Ms. Trish is great in swaps, both hosting and participating. So sit back and read what she has to say.

INTERVIEW WITH CREATIVEMIND

What made you decide to start crafting?
I always liked art starting from a very young age, mostly drawing, but I kinda got bored with just that, so I started learning different things. I'm self-taught so whenever there was something I liked, and I would rather make it myself than buy it, I researched it and find out how to make it or come up with my own idea, which was mostly the case. So the more stuff I made and I liked the end result, the more I wanted to create.

What is/are your inspirations with the things you create? I'm inspired by a lot of things, like nature, other art pieces that I see, and basically just anything and everything around me.

Do you have a favorite craft you enjoy doing?
Oh gosh, I do so much that I don't have just one favorite, but if I had to choose, it would be drawing and jewelry making, and yeah that's more than one fav.

What is a typical day/week for you?
Most of the time I will craft all day with a little bit of household chores thrown in between craft ideas. My older kids that are still home help out with the autistic one, so I have more time to create, which is all I like to do these days, but I can multi-task like nobody's business.

What is it like to have a place online to sell the things you love making?(what is your online store link)
It's really cool to know that people like my stuff enough to buy it, so that means more to me than just making a sale.
I have two shops:
www.craftycreature101.etsy.com
http://creativemind.dawanda.com

Other than crafting what other hobbies do you have?
I like singing and dancing, the dancing mostly to work up a sweat. I have a few pounds I need to loose. :)

What are your thoughts on our favorite crafting site www.cutoutandkeep.net?
It's just awesome! I have been to other sites, but CO+K is the only one I keep coming back to all day every day. And the people are also great as well as their crafts. I call it my online family!

Where do you see yourself ten years from now?
Haha, hopefully more established and running my own craft business locally with other local artist.

Lastly, I will let you ask me two questions and I will answer them for you.
Ok

What is your favorite craft?
My favorite crafting will always be jewlery making. No matter what other things I wander off too I will always find myself making a pair of earrings or gluing something on a ring blank lol

If there was a craft that you would like to learn, what would it be?
I would love to learn knitting and crocheting!!!
